Study of internal vibrations of dl-camphene by IINS method

Abstract: Elastic and inelastic neutron scattering study of dl-camphene has been performed in the temperature range from 295 to 10K. The IINS spectra have been taken on two spectrometers of different resolving power. In the plastic phase vibrational spectra are broadened as a consequence of stochastic reorientation of camphene molecule, and the characteristic frequencies of intramolecular vibrations cannot be observed. These frequencies in dl-camphene can only be observed below the phase transition temperature. An interpretation of the frequency modes in the phonon spectra is proposed. © 1994.
